Peter Zorn was a German Lutheran theologian, historian, grazist, and Hebrew. He also used the pseudonym Theophilus Amelii.

Zorn studied in Leipzig and Wittenberg. In the winter semester of 1705/06 he enrolled as a graduate at the University of Rostock, where he passed his examinations and a disputation at the Faculty of Theology. He gave lectures on Greek language and history in Giessen and Kiel. In 1715 he became a rector at the Gymnasium in Plön. From 1720 he was a private tutor in Hamburg. In 1725 he became professor of history and eloquence in Szczecin. From 1739 he was a rector at the Gymnasium in Thorn and there a municipal librarian. He recently lived as a private tutor in Berlin.

Anger was regarded as a versatile scholar who, in numerous books, dealt in particular with the history of the church, the history of antiquity and theology, but also with Jewish history and numismatics.
