The comedy is probably the second Estonian feature film after the Politsatire Karujaht Pärnumaal of 1914. The short film is the first Estonian feature film production after the foundation of the Republic of Estonia in 1918.

The black and white film is considered to be lost. Nothing is known about the content and the actors.

The production company was the Estonia film, which was officially founded in September 1920 by the two brothers Konstantin and Theodor Märska. The capital for the company was contributed by the brothers Johannes and Peeter Parikas.

The short film was shot on June 9, 1921, in just one day. The story takes place in the Estonian capital Tallinn. The exterior photographs were shot in the Old Town of Tallinn, Narva Lake (Narva maantee), the Russalka Monument and the Baltic Sea in the Pirita district.
