grinding Mühlviertel
The bakery in the Schleifmühlviertel Mühlgasse
The area around Schleifmühlgasse in the 4th district of the Wieden district is called "Schleifmühlviertel". The Grätzl is close to the Naschmarkt and the Technical University and is not clearly distinguishable from the neighboring Freihausviertel (in the area of the former Freihauses on the Wieden). The Schleifmühlviertel is known for its art and culture offering with some galleries, but also for many bars and restaurants with different audiences. Edit HistoryQual
In the area of today's Schleifmühlgasse there was once a sidearm of the Wienflusses, which was used as Mühlbach to operate the mills located there. There was also a weapon-grinding and polishing mill, already mentioned in 1582. A settlement around this mill was called Schleifmühl and later Mühlfeld. Single-level Edit source text
