Stroboskopie
The stroboscopy or videostroboscopy is used to assess the vocal function. The mobility of the vocal folds can be assessed by means of stroboscopy. With it, it is possible to investigate the fine motor, the regularity of the vibrations, its amplitude, the motion sequence for symmetry at the opening and closing phase of the glottis. It is useful for vocal infiltration (eg tumors (early detection) and inflammation) and functional vocal disorders. The triggering is effected by the phonation of the subject via a body or air line microphone or via an EGG signal. In the case of pronounced vocal disorders, the method often fails because no fundamental frequency analysis is possible to trigger the stroboscope. Laryngoscopy is superior with high-speed cameras.
