Rudolf Machenschalk (born November 8, 1928 in Reutte, Tyrol, Austria, † 20 September 2005 in Igls near Innsbruck) was an Austrian manager and long-time head of Plansee AG. Edit LifeQualtext
Machschalk studied Technical Chemistry at the Technical University of Vienna from 1947 to 1953 and was a member of the Graz University of Technology. He worked from the holiday trainee at the Planseewerken in Reutte up to the chairman of the board.
Rudolf Machenschalk built a world-wide industrial group from a Tyrolean medium-sized company, with 52 companies world-wide. In 1996, he resigned from the Management Board and took over the chairmanship of the Supervisory Board. He was also represented in numerous supervisory boards, such as ÖIAG, voestalpine AG, Seibersdorf Research Center, German VIAG or Tilak.
More than 50 publications and patents have been published by Machenschalk in his field of powder metallurgy. He was honored with the Great Golden Emblem of Merit for the Republic of Austria on 19 November 2003 and was an honorary citizen of his hometown of Reutte.
