Victorino Rojas Magallanes
Victorino Rojas Magallanes was a Chilean politician who served as second mayor of the commune of Puente Alto.
He led the commune together with Carlos Aldunate Solar (first mayor) and Rafael Correa Echagüe (third), since at that time the mayors were elected in groups of three for the same period, so it is wrong to think that Aldunate preceded in the position to Rojas Magallanes, or that this one was happened by Correa. Thus appears in a letter from the municipality dated May 15, 1894, addressed to the governor of the Department of La Victoria: "It being convenient for you to know the organization of the Municipality of Puente Alto for the relations between it and that governorship, I have the honor to inform you that in the first ordinary session were appointed as first mayor Carlos Aldunate Solar, second as Victorino Rojas Magallanes and third as gift Rafael Correa Echagüe. "
Rojas Magallanes was also the owner of the fund "Florida", in whose land was developed the first urban nucleus of the commune of the same name La Florida. In 1900, when he was created, the Municipality of Florida will become an alderman. In the election of 1901 Don Victorino will be elected Mayor of the commune.
A Floridian street bears its name, which in turn gave its name to the homonymous station of Line 4 of the Santiago Metro.
