Panoramix

Panoramix is ​​a main character in the comic book Asterix created by René Goscinny and Albert Uderzo. He is the druid of the village and the only one capable of producing the "magic potion", whose formula is transmitted only "from druid mouth to Druid's ear", and with which villagers gain supernatural strength. He is tall, thin-skinned, bears a long white beard, is dressed in white with a red cloak and is usually seen carrying a gold sickle. Although his age has never been established, in the history of the birth of Asterix (where all the members of the village appear like small children, except the oldest) it appears without changes. In the combat of the chiefs the druid Amnesix (which appears to be quite old) refers to Panoramix as the greatest and master.

Although known for his superhuman strength potion, he has many other magical and medicinal potions at his disposal and plays the role of physician and occasionally as village teacher. Asterix (and many other villagers) consult him as soon as something strange happens. Usually he does not go into combat, unlike the rest of the villagers, who are always willing to enjoy a good fight (even between themselves). Nevertheless, in some occasions it participates actively in the combats, as in the book the great ditch, where in company of Asterix, Obélix, Ideafix and other Gauls they conquer a Roman camp located in an area different from Armoric

Since he is the only individual capable of producing the magic potion, which the villagers need to get their strength, Panoramix is ​​the center of many stories, and the village consciousness. On some occasions he has refused to make the potion when the inhabitants have become too selfish. Occasionally, hostile forces have taken him prisoner, to have access to the potion; only to be released again thanks to Asterix and Obelix. The quest for ingredients for his potions has sent Asterix to travel on various adventures. Basically the potion is composed of mistletoe cut with gold sickle, roots, flowers, herbs and some spices; even carries lobster, which is not essential but gives it good taste. One of the last and rarest ingredients known is rock oil (petroleum), but by not having it, he experimented and found that the juice of beetroot served the same and improved the flavor. Panoramix can even give you several different flavors.
