Natasha (nuclear bomb)
Natasha, also known by its industrial name 8U49, is the name of the first tactical nuclear bomb produced in series by the Soviet Union that had the capability of deployment by long range bombers.
The bomb was designed and built in Arzamas-16 during the 1950's especially for Yak-26 tactical aircraft, and entered service in 1960.
The bomb had an aerodynamic design with low drag coefficient, and X-shaped stabilizers. Its dimensions were 3365 mm in length and 580 mm in diameter, and had a mass of 450 kg. at a height between 500 and 30000 m and speeds up to 3000 km / h in horizontal flight, and with complex maneuvers.
