Jean II d'Auschwitz
John II of Oświęcim (in Polish Jan II Oświęcimski), of the Piast dynasty, was born around 1330 and died in 1375 or 1376. He was Duke of Oświęcim from 1372 to 1375/6.
John II is the only son of John I the Scolastic and his first wife whose identity is unknown. Still during his father's lifetime, he exercises power with him.
He became the real sovereign of the Duchy of Oświęcim after the death of his father in 1372. On 9 October 1372, his overlord, the Bohemian king Wenceslas IV, confirmed him as Duke of Oświęcim. John II designates the Duke of Cieszyn Przemyslaw I as successor. Since John III was already born at this time, it may be thought that he was destined for a religious career.
John II of Oświęcim died between 1 June 1375 and 8 October 1376. He is buried in the church of the Dominicans of Oświęcim.
