Franz Mohr first studied at the Academy in Munich, a. with Nikolaus Gysis and subsequently in Berlin with Defregger 1905-1907. There he also took private lessons with Lovis Corinth. After studying, he worked as a teacher at the painting school Anton Ažbe in Munich and also worked as an actor and art critic. In 1919 he volunteered for the First World War.
