Number of Melis
Antal Melis (born 12 May 1946 in Budapest) is a former Hungarian rower.
At the Olympic Games in 1968, the Hungarian four without a Steuermann, Zoltán Melis, György Sarlós, József Csermely and Antal Melis won the second lead with an eight-second lead over the Italian fours. In the final, the GDR four, who had won the first lead, won two and a half seconds ahead of the Hungarians, while the Italians received the bronze medal. In the following year, the Hungarian four came to the European championships 1969 in the same occupation as in 1968, the Soviet foursome prevailed against the Hungarians and the four from the GDR.
At the European Championships in 1971, Antal Melis finished fourth with the Hungarian eighth. After his absence in the Olympic Games in 1972 with the four-man Steuermann, Antal Melis finished fourth with the Hungarian Eight at the European Championships in 1973.
