Duck Voisin-Iwanow
Anatra Voisin-Ivanov was a Russian military aircraft.
The Voisin-Ivanov was the result of the revision and improvement of a French Voisin LAS in a troop workshop. A new fuselage gondola with clear lines was installed, the observer in the front seat received a mobile MG. Between the engine with the pressure propeller and the tank an aluminum fire trap was drawn in, the tank itself was protected against bombardment. A third wing-bar was installed, all the wings were made of steel tubes. The wing struts now consisted of elliptical steel pipes or were given an oval wooden covering. Because of the increased mass, the chassis had to be reinforced.
The flight test showed very good results, the engine was faster than the original Voisin LAS despite the increased mass at the same engine power 20 km / h. Therefore, it was decided to replace the original French model in Russian licensing at Anatra with this new variant. Between 1916 and 1917 more than 150 machines were built, which remained in service until 1922. Technical data Anatra Voisin-Iwanow Edit source text
