Charles Ludwig Selig

Karl Ludwig Selig (* 1926 - 2012), American hispanist.

Professor of the University of Texas, distinguished by his studies on several aspects of the literature of the Golden Age (Fray Luis de Leon, Baltasar Gracian, Francisco de la Torre, etc.) and has published The Library of Juan Vincencio de Lastanosa, Patron of Gracian, Geneva: Droz, 1960). He has also been interested in the relationship between painting and the emblematic and the literature of the Golden Age (Antonio Palomino and the tradition of emblematic literature in Spain, AIH, Actas, 1962) and edited, along with H. Parker, the Bulletin of The Comedians, an important bibliographical collection on the theater of the Golden Age.
