Quriat (قريات, DMG Quryāt) is a coastal town on the east coast of Oman on the Indian Ocean with 38,000 inhabitants (as of 2003).
Quriat is located in the Wilāyat Quriat, one of the Wilāyāt Governorates of Muscat.
The small town played a role in the Portuguese colonial history. The city, which was also called Curiate or Kuriyat by the Portuguese, was conquered in 1507. After a revolt in 1522, the fortress captured by the Portuguese was destroyed and rebuilt in 1607. In 1648, Nasir ibn Murschid recaptured the city for Oman.
