Þorkell Tjörvason
Þorkell Tjörvason (Thorkel, 1002 - 1053) was a Viking warlord of Ljósavatn, Suður-Þingeyjarsýsla in Iceland. His historical figure appears in the saga Ljósvetninga, as lögsögumaður of Iceland between 1034 and 1053. He was the son of Tjörvi Þorgeirsson (n. 977), and grandson of Þorgeir Ljósvetningagoði. The sagas mention practically little more than their legal function in the Icelandic Commonwealth. Heritage
He was married to Þuríður Runólfsdóttir (n. 1006), a daughter of Runólfur Úlfsson, and from that relationship was born a son, Hrólfur Þorkelsson (n.1030). Bibliography
