Elbo
Elbot is a conversational robot created by Fred Roberts.
During the 18th edition of the Loebner Artificial Intelligence Award, which took place on 11-12 October 2008, the Elbot program succeeded in persuading three of the 12 human judges who questioned it to be indistinguishable of a human being, being selected as the winner of this year's Bronze Medal of the competition.
In case Elbot had managed to convince another judge, it could have passed the 30% limit set by Alan Turing when he defined the Turing Test in 1950, which is the basis of this award.
