Angelo Geniani


Angelo Geniani (born October 20, 1802 in Varallo, Italy) was an Italian Roman Catholic clergyman, cistercian, abbot and general abbot Live and WorkChoose source text Geniani was from 1822 to 1834 a Cistercian in the consolata consortium in Turin, then had to change to Rome, and from there he went as Abbot vicar to the (since 1827 Cistercian) Santuario della Beata Vergine del Trompone in Moncrivello , Province of Vercelli. In 1843 he became procurator of the King of Sardinia in Turin and abbot of the monastery of Santa Maria della Pieve in Cortemilia (Piedmont). From 1853 to 1856 he was the General Abbot of the Cistercian Order and abbot of Santa Croce in Gerusalemme in Rome (successor: Teobaldo Cesari) (as successor of Tommaso Mossi).
