Leopoldstrasse

Leopoldstrasse is one of the main arteries and the name of the Ludwigstrasse avenue in the Bavarian capital, Munich, Germany.

It borders the districts of Maxvorstadt, Schwabing and Milbertshofen north of the Siegestor.

It was built in 1891 on the orders of Prince Leopold of Bavaria.

It is also known as Schwabinger Weg.

Start at Siegestor, next to the Kunstakademie, Münchner Freiheit, the first house on the left is the Villa of Lola Montez, lover of Louis I of Bavaria, currently used by students of the Universität.
