José Fernando Castro Caycedo was a Colombian politician member of the Cambio Radical party. He was born in Zipaquirá on April 22, 1951 and died of a stroke on May 7, 2008 in Bogota during a session of the House of Representatives' sixth committee. Biography
Castro Caycedo, brother of the well-known journalist and writer Germán Castro Caycedo, was married to Patricia Pineda with whom he had four children: Maria Consuelo, Camila, Carolina and Juan Fernando, in life he became the grandfather of three grandchildren. >
He studied Law and Political Science at La Gran Colombia University. He was Ombudsman, International Coordinator of the Presidential Campaign of Luis Carlos Galán; he served as a member of the Board of Directors of the Colombian Institute of Family Welfare, and of the Board of Directors of Prosocial. He was also Captain of the Reserve of the National Army. Since 2006, he has held a seat in the House of Representatives for Bogotá.
