Several fjords and bays flow into Ísafjarðardjúp, especially to the south. Going inland these are Bolungarvík, Skutulsfjörður, Álftafjörður, Seyðisfjörður, Hestfjörður, Skötufjörður, Mjóifjörður, Vatnsfjörður, Reykjarfjörður and Ísafjörður. to the north is the uninhabited peninsula of Hornstrandir, which houses the fjords of Jökulfirðir and Kaldalón that also end in the Djúp.
