Influenza A view (H7N9)
H7N9 is a serotype of Influenzavirus A that causes bird flu. A H7 viruses commonly circulate among the bird population, but some variants may occasionally affect humans. The H7N9 serotype was first isolated from a human patient in the year 2013 in China. In the months following the first case, more than 100 infected persons were detected, 75% of whom had contact with live birds. The World Health Organization considers the H7N9 serotype as a dangerous virus for people that has caused up to 6 November 2013, 139 human cases and more than 45 deaths.
