al-A'rāf (arabic الأعراف, The Heights') is the seventh sura of the Koran with 206 Āyāt. It was revealed to Mecca and included, among other things, the prophets' stories of Hūd, Lot, Shu'ayb, Noah, Salih and Moses. Translated is the title "The Heights", which refers to the people in the hereafter, who stand on it. "The Heights" are, according to Islamic tradition, those places that are in the middle between Paradise and Hell.
In Sura 7:46, Hijab marks the dividing wall between the inmates of hell and the inhabitants of Paradise. Weblinks Edit sourcetext
