The denomination refers to the old hacienda of Mozobamba in Andahuaylas, Apurímac.

On the death of the fourth marquesa, the rights to the title were acquired by his daughter, Juana Teresa de Donestebe del Pozo, married to Juan Domingo de La Riva and Ruiz Cosio. In 1996, the son of the last head of the marquisate, Rafael José Gutiérrez de Calderón, requested the succession of the title. That same year, a court in Madrid asked for the referral of the file that granted the rehabilitation of 1982, and the following year, the Provincial Court of Madrid declared the commission of the crime of falsification of public documents. In 2006, the Ministry of Justice declared void the succession letter that rehabilitated the title in favor of Jose Fernando Gutierrez de Calderón.
