Akakos
Akakos (ancient Greek Ἄκακος) is in Greek mythology the eponymous founder of the Arcadian city of Akakesion.
He is one of the sons of Lykaon, who are all the founders of an Arcadian city. According to Pausanias, he was with the Arcadians as an educator of Hermes, who after him had the nickname Akakesios (Ἀκακήσιος) and who was honored on a hill near Akakesion with a cult statue. Pausanias mentions that there was another myth to Hermes Akakesios in Theben and Tanagra, but does not go further.
It is likely that Hermes Akakesios is identified with the homerian Hermes, who is known as a defendant of misfortune and a donor of good gifts (Ἑρμείας ἀκάκητα). Edit source text Edit the source text
