Provinces of Gabon.

Gabon, an African country, is subdivided into 9 provinces, which are divided into 37 departments.

As the third administrative level are the cantons (152), communes (52), arrondissements (29), and districts (26) .These units make up the departments of Gabon.The arrondissements tend to be large cities like Libreville , while the communes are generally the surrounding rural areas. The cantons are rural and smaller than a town and have a village as an administrative center.
