In Austria, the proficiency test is an official examination of the knowledge of a person in order to be able to pursue a certain trade (qualification). Proof of qualification is required for the self-employment of a regulated trade as well as of some branches. These are defined in the trade regulation.
The qualification tests also include the master craftsman's test.
