Viečiūnai is a town with 1708 inhabitants (2001) in the municipality Druskininkai northeast of the spa town Druskininkai, on the right bank of Nemunas. It is the center of the district district of the same name. In Viečiūnai there is a main school, a library, a nursery nursery "Linelis", a post office (LT-66007). From 1963 there was a coal mine and from 1975 a wool fabric factory of the Soviet-Lithuanian textile company and the later Lithuanian company AB Drobė and a basketball team "Drobė" Viečiūnai.
