Njoo Kiem Bie joined the Indonesian Thomas Cup team in 1958, which won this world championship for male footballers in the year before. In the final against Malaya, he started in two men's doubles against Johnny Heah and Lim Say Hup as well as Eddy Choong and Ooi Teik Hock. Against Hock and Choong he lost with Tan King Gwan with 15:18 and 5:15, but against Heah and Hup he won with 7:15, 15: 8 and 18:15. Indonesia won the final of 6: 3 overall.
In the individual disciplines he started between 1959 and 1963 at the Malaysian Open and the Singapore Open. Nationally, he won the Indonesian Championship in the Gentlemen's Doubles 1960 and 1964 as well as the Mixed 1965.
