Amtsbezirk Harrislee

Amtsbezirk Bau was an administrative district in the district of Flensburg-Land in the province of Schleswig-Holstein.

The Amtsbezirk was formed in 1889 from the two communities of Fröslee and Harrislee.

After the Volksabstimmung in Schleswig, Fröslee was ceded to Denmark in 1920. In return, the communities of Kupfermühle and Niehuus come from the dissolved Amtsbezirk Bau to the district district of Harrislee.

In 1938, Kupfermühle and Niehuus were incorporated into Harrislee.

In 1948, the Amtsbezirk was dissolved and Handewitt became an official municipality.
