Württemberg Chamber Orchestra


The Württembergische Kammerchor is a mixed choir from Stuttgart, which was founded in 1970.

The choir director Dieter Kurz has worked with the ensemble to create a repertoire covering a wide range of vocal music: from a cappella music and oratorios from the last four centuries to vocal-symphonic works in diverse occupations.

Chormusik of the nineteenth and twentieth century is one of the main focuses of the Württemberg Chamber Choir.

The choir is also devoted to contemporary music. Thus, he can refer to premieres of Isang Yun, Dieter Schnebel, Karl Michael Komma, Hans Georg Pflüger, Axel Ruoff, and others. His field of activity also includes participation in scenic productions and concert opera performances.

In 2002, the Württemberg Chamber Choir participated in the state act of the state government for the anniversary 50 years Baden-Württemberg under Michael Gielen. The Choir regularly performs at international festivals (Festival de Musique Sacre de Nice, Printemps des Arts de Montecarlo, International Schaffhausen Festival, International Festival Baden-Württemberg / Ludwigsburger Schlossfestspiele). He is also a permanent partner of the International Hugo-Wolf Academy for Singing, Poetry and Song Art.

International tours to France, Italy, Spain, Denmark, Croatia, the Netherlands and Switzerland, TV shows and CD productions complete the work of the choir. In 2004, two CDs were released, one on the 200th birthday of Eduard Mörike, the other on the fifth anniversary of the composer Hans Georg Pflüger.

For the recording of Hugo Wolf's choirs with orchestra, the choir of "Le monde de la musique" was awarded the top title "Choc". In June 2005, Francis Poulenc's double-chorus A-cappella work Figure humaine, together with compositions by the jazz trio Hübner Brothers & amp; Black on CD.
