Waltraud Schütz
Waltraud Schütz (born February 7, 1957 in Linz, Austria) was an Austrian politician (SPÖ) and social scientist. Schütz was a member of the Austrian National Council from 1986 to 1994.
Schütz attended the elementary school and a high-level secondary school, which she completed with the Matura. Schütz subsequently studied social science at the University of Linz and graduated with an academic degree in Mag. After her studies, Schütz worked from 1980 to 1986 as an employee of the SPÖ-Bezirksorganisation Linz-Stadt, then she represented the SPÖ from 17 December 1986 to 6 November 1994 in the National Council. She also worked as a social scientist and had various voluntary activities and functions in socialist youth organizations and associations.
After her political career, Schütz was particularly active in development policy and ran a business in Vienna. She also helped in an orphanage in Kenya, bleeding out of the esophagus during a stay in this country due to a broken varicose veins and died on the way to the capital of Nairobi.
