Ingo Giezendanner
Ingo Giezendanner (Basel, 1975) Swiss artist. Biography
He lives and works in Zurich. His nickname is GRRR, and since 1998 he has been documenting the urban spaces he has traveled and resided in, such as Zurich, New York, New Orleans, Cairo, Nairobi, Karachi and Colombo, capturing his surroundings with a pencil on paper. His drawings have been edited by numerous magazines, books and animated films, and in installations and murals.
Next to Mark Divo he painted the facade of the factory occupied Wohlgroth, in Zurich, in 1993. Since then, Giezendanner has made numerous murals. During his stay in New York, he made a mural on 2nd East Street. In 2004 he painted a large-scale mural at the Zurich Art Center, representing the ongoing reconstruction. He is a member of the Kroesos Foundation. In January 2010 he exhibited his work in the gallery Espacio Líquido, in Gijón.
In the last five years, he has also made animation films. In 2005 he produced several videoclips for Swiss TV channels, including GRR: gib mer, which was very successful, in collaboration with rapper Big Zis.
