Gijs de Vries

Gijs de Vries. (New York, February 22, 1956). Politician of the Netherlands of German nationality.

Degree in Political Science and International Relations from the University of Leiden in 1981, he also majored in international politics at Georgetown University. He was Member of the European Parliament from 1984 to 1998. Minister of the Interior of the Netherlands from 1998 to 2002. Coordinator of the European Union's antiterrorist policy since 2004, appeared in the Commission of investigation of the attacks of 11 of March of 2004 in Madrid.

Declared enemy of the Law of Parties and certain antiterrorist policies of Spain in the Basque Country.
