Free area of ​​the Republic of China (traditional Chinese: 中華民國 自由 地區) is a legal and political description referring to the territories of the Republic of China in the control of its government. It usually corresponds to groups of the island of Taiwan, Penghu, Kinmen, and Matsu. The "free area" is synonymous with the term "Taiwan Area" (臺灣 地區 / 台灣 地區), which is used in the contexts of economic, commercial and people exchanges.
