Angst (Lacrimosa album)
Angst ("Angustia", in German) is Lacrimosa's debut album, all songs are written in German. The songs are slow and simple, showing a dark, mysterious and full of nostalgia and anger, "Der Ketzer" (The Heretic) is a song full of rage and claim to the church, it includes a female voice and a date of Pope John Paul II.
The cover of the album, painted by Stelio Diamantopoulos, represents a carnival of the late eighteenth century, with some storm clouds, this begins the character and the story of the Harlequin, alter ego of Tilo Wolff. He participated happily in the carnival until something happened. This fact was what caused the harlequin to leave his home.
In 2005, through Icarus (Argentina) and Scarecrow (Mexico), the album was reissued in an anniversary edition which included the song Diener Eines Geistes (Dirus Mix) as a Bonus Track. Songs list
