Anglofilia

Anglophilia (from the Latin Anglus, "English", and from Ancient Greek φίλος - philos, "friend") is an admiration for the English people or their culture.

The term is used around the world (in America is used especially for inhabitants of New England, New York and the East Coast of the United States in general) to refer to people who follow English models for their businesses, their social or political practices or simply admire them. In some cases, Anglophilia represents an individual p for English culture than for its own: the feeling that culture is superior. It is also applicable to lovers of the History of England.

Within Anglophilia, there is a current that is only attracted to the "traditional" English culture (the works of Shakespeare, Jane Austen, Samuel Johnson ...). On the other hand, there are those who defend English pop and rock music, the "modern" part. However, there are those who admire the contemporary culture, which revolves around both branches, and that is possibly the majority sector. Beyond the culture are those who admire the great British contributions to humanity for their inventions and discoveries, as well as for their revolutionary theories and schools of thought (theological, scientific, etc.).

In Spain during the First World War, Germanophile and aliadófilas currents of opinion were organized, and within this last francófila and anglophile.
