Palestine Stadium

The Palestinian Stadium (Arabic: ملعب فلسطين) is located in Gaza City in the Gaza Strip, in Palestine. It is the national stadium and home of the Palestine national football team. The capacity of the stadium is about 10,000 spectators.

It was bombed by Israel on April 1, 2006, directly at the central point, and became unusable due to the crater formed. FIFA announced that it would finance the repair work. It was again bombed on November 19, 2012, by the Israel Defense Forces as part of Operation Cloud Column. Israel said the latest attack was due to its alleged use by militants to launch rockets targeting Israel.

The stadium and the area near the indoor sports hall suffered significant damage which resulted in notable players from around the world making a signed petition against these actions.
