Nevrast

In the imaginary universe of J. R. R. Tolkien, Nevrast is the region south of the Dengrist Estuary and southwest of Hithlum; was in the triangle formed by the Echo Mountains (Dor Lómin) to the east; the Shadow Mountains to the south; and the coast of the Belegaer to the west; the northern border was constituted by Cirith Niniach. at the southern apex was Mount Taras, where the city of Turgon, Vinyamar, lay beneath its foot. Linaewen ("lake of the birds") is the great lagoon of Nevrast, so called because there lived a great quantity and variety of birds.
