Louis Auguste Frédéric Baron Evain (* 1775 in Angers, † 24 May 1852 in Brussels) was a Belgian politician.
Evain took French military services in 1792 and became a generallie of artillery in 1822. He left the service in 1824, but returned in August 1830. Towards the end of 1831 he went to Belgium, where he became naturalist in 1832, and was Minister of War from 20 May 1832 to 19 August 1836. Retired since 1848, he died on May 24, 1852. He has earned a great deal of credit for the organization of the Belgian army. Edit source source text
