Information Lifecycle Management
ILM (Information Lifecycle Management) is a strategy for storing large volumes of information in companies that aligns IT infrastructure with business requirements based on the changing value of information over time.
Focus on three essential points:
• Applications, to ensure that business processes are supported correctly and efficiently. • Information, to ensure that the most valuable resource available to the company is managed, shared and protected at the appropriate levels and at the lowest possible cost, even if the value and requirements of the information change over time.
• Infrastructure, to ensure that we have IT resources with the highest level of efficiency possible and at the lowest cost, with a high degree of flexibility to quickly respond to the changing needs of the business. These three points - applications, information and infrastructure, together with ILM - are linked to the needs and requirements of the business. In fact, this link is what gives the greatest value to an organization or company.
