Albingia emerges from the Albingia insurance company founded in Hamburg in 1901; which opened its first branch office in Strasbourg in 1962 in Strasbourg. The German mother came to the French Axa Group in 1999, who sold the French subsidiary to the private equity investor Barclays Private Equity in 2003; which in November 2006 sold to two other financial investors, Chevrillon & amp; Associés and IDI.
