Eduardo Viscasillas Blanque
Eduardo Viscasillas Blanque (Zaragoza, September 21, 1848 - Madrid, 1935) was an Aragonese composer and diplomat.
In his native city he studied law, together with musical studies, in which he was a distinguished student of maestro Bailo Tena. The year 1873 entered the diplomatic corps, obtaining destiny in Italy, where it remained three years. In this time he composed several musical works, to which later, already returned to Spain, he added the titled Notte in Venezia; Meditazione, and the anthem "Santa Cecília" (the latter awarded at the Music Exhibition in Bologna in 1888, on the jury of which Verdi was) and a Salvo for voices and orchestra. The 17 of January of 1899 premiered in the Main theater of Saragossa its opera Page goda with libretto of Lluís Ram de Viu. Appointed dean of the College of San Clemente in Bologna, he composed new instrumental works and finished the score of a Spanish opera entitled Pelayo, which left unpublished. Bibliography
