Pool feeder
Poolfeeder (German: Poolsauger) or Telmophages (from Greek τέλμα (télma) = Puddle, Swamp and φαγείν (phageín) = eat) are those blood-sucking insects (hematophages) that rupture a wound with coarse mouth tools. They feed on the exiting "puddle" of blood, lymph and cell fluids. Pool feeder are, for example, Eg the brakes (Tabanidae) and the wormflies (Simuliidae).
Telmophagia is the name of the appropriate diet, in English "telmophagy". In German, the name is still somewhat unfamiliar, but seems to be natural. : Capillary suction Single-level Edit source text
