Born in Seville, he was active as an architect in this city during the second half of the nineteenth century. He was architect of the Dukes of Montpensier and of that form made diverse reforms in the dependencies of the Palace of San Telmo and also intervened in the works of the Palace of Sanlúcar de Barrameda, summer residence of the dukes. He also accompanied the dukes on some of their travels, to France above all.

He was a lecturer at the School of Fine Arts, a member of the Royal Academy of Fine Arts of St. Elizabeth of Hungary. He married Carmen Heredia Yuste, a wealthy gypsy from Écija, daughter of his construction contractor, lived on Monsalves Street in Seville, where his children would be born, among them Juan Talavera y Heredia, famous regionalist architect of the first half of the century.

In 1881 he drafted a project for the defense of Seville against the floods, on behalf of the Ayuntamiento, in which he proposed the construction of a wall of defense that would close the town. Works
