Crooks’ Corner
As a crooks' corner (also without an apostrophe), a place is placed on a land in the extreme north of the Kruger National Park (in the "Makuleke Concession") at the confluence of the rivers Limpopo and Luvuvhu, the Dreiländereck South Africa-Zimbabwe-Mozambique. The intersection of the national borders of Mozambique and Zimbabwe with that of South Africa is located in the river bed of the Limpopo in front of the mouth of the Luvuvhu.
In the 19th century, before the construction of a police station, the place was a hiding place for poachers, smugglers and lawmakers, who had been persecuted by rangers and police by changing to one of the neighboring countries - in the dry time on foot the almost dry limpopo - pull. The place has also retained its name from the lawmakers who are staying there.
The area around Crooks' Corner is one of the areas of the Kruger National Park with the highest biodiversity. Weblinks Edit sourcetext
