Andrew Kaufman (Wingham, Ontario) is a Canadian writer, film director and radio producer. Carrera
His short film Aberistiwith has been shown at various festivals in Europe and Canada was exhibited at festivals across Europe and Canada. He is a rotating member of the cast of the Perpetual Motion Roadshow, and now works as a CBC producer in Toronto. His short novel Al My Friends Are Superheroes (Coach House, 2003) is the story of love, told in a humorous way, between a normal man and a superheroine, The Perfectionist. The novel is set in the superhero circles of Toronto, in which the strange characters are, in fact, different human types. The book has been translated into different languages, including Norwegian (2006), Italian (2007), French (translation by Anna Rozen, Éditions Alto (2007), German (2008), Dutch (translated by Caroline Teszler, 2009) and Spanish (2010) In 2013 a commemorative edition of the tenth anniversary appeared, which included additional material, which in Spanish was published with the title All my friends are superheroes (Editorial Turner, 2015).
Other books by Kaufman include The Waterproof Bible (Random House, Canada, 2010) and The Tiny Wife (Madras Press, 2010). His latest novel, Born Weird, appeared in January 2013 (Random House Canada).
