Reserva India de Port Madison

The Port Madison Indian Reservation is an Indian reservation in North Kitsap County, Washington. It occupies 29.5 km² (7,284 acres) on the west and north banks of Port Madison, and is divided into two parcels separated by Miller Bay. The unincorporated villages of the Suquamish and Indianola are both at the boundaries of the reserve. The reservation was established by the Treaty of Point Elliott on January 22, 1855 for the tribes of the Suquamish, and was expanded by an executive order granted on October 21, 864. When the lands were reserved by the Treaty of Point Elliott, the entire territory became the property of members of the Suquamish tribe and designated exclusively for their use. Nonetheless, a series of procedures designed to accommodate non-Indian expansion and land acquisition created the current situation where the reserve is extensively intermingled with non-tribal properties.
