Association of selfish

The association of egoists (also "Union of egoists") is a concept expounded by the German thinker Max Stirner in his essay Der Einzige und sein Eigentum (The Unique and its Property) of late 1844, which refers to a voluntary association of people that opposes the conception of the groups and groups abstract and not based on the ego of the individuals, as they are the society, the nation, the State or the family.

On the practical level, a first approximation to the idea developed briefly after 1903, when the "Gemeinschaft der Eigenen" (Society of the Own) was created in Germany, initially and partially inspired by some principles ideological stirnerianos and in which they participate between Adolf Brand and John Henry Mackay, linked to the newspaper "Der Eigene" (Lo Propio), published between 1896 and 1932. Later, other anarchoindividualist thinkers, such as Georges Palante, Lev Tchernyi or Miguel Giménez Igualada, who in the 1930s came to propose in Spain the creation of a Federation of individualist anarchist associations, akin to the concept of Union of selfish Stirnerian, would work, with different shades, on the same concept.
