Andrés María de Guzmán
Andrés María de Guzmán (Granada, Spain 1752 - Paris, April 5, 1794). French Revolutionary of Spanish origin.
He belonged to a family of Spanish nobility. Son of Juan de Dios de Guzmán and Isidora Ruiz de Castro, Countess of Tilly, carried out military studies in the Military School of Sorèze, being nationalized French in 1781.
In 1789 he enlisted in the revolutionary army, being a cavalry colonel in 1793. Leader of the Cordeliers Club, he became the right hand of Marat.
On May 31, 1793, the church bells of Paris were ringed in tocsin, giving the signal for a revolt against the Girondins, which was later called "Don Tocsinos." Accused of having participated in the liquidation of the group of the indulgents of Danton, he was guillotined on April 5, 1794 in Paris. Bibliography
