In December 2014, a prisoner exchange was made, including the release of Alan Gross.
In April 2015, following the thaw, the United States announces the beginning of the procedure to remove Cuba from the US State Department's list of states supporting terrorism, which is effective 45 days later, if the Senate or the House of Representatives does not object. So on May 29, 2015, Cuba is no longer considered a state supporting terrorism by the United States.
